Today was one of those days that make you smile. It was just an all around lovely day. Shayne was sick last night, but woke up feeling fine. There was lots of snuggling today. Lylah was as sweet as ever. I cleaned, styled a sleeping beauty wig for work and got some other stuff done around the house. Then it was errand time. The kids and I started at the Dollar Tree, bought a few things and then we went to Handel's. I love them! They make ice cream the old fashioned way. Shayne got his own and Lylah and I shared. It was fun to just sit with them. Then we went to Trader Joes and came home. Soon Nathan was home from work too. :) I made spaghetti bolognese and a spinach and artichoke pizza that we ate while watching Happy Feet.
I guess that day doesn't sound any different from any other of our days. But something happened today that really made me appreciate the way that my life has turned out. While parking my car out front of our complex this morning, I spotted two young children sifting through a dumpster in the alley. They couldn't have been more than 6 or 7 years old. Ratty clothes, no shoes. It was the saddest thing I think I've ever seen. It made me really appreciative for what we have. I have two happy healthy kids who are taken care of. I have a husband that loves us all and works hard to make sure we have everything we need. I love you Nathan Brown! Ok well, thats it for now. Talk to everyone soon!
